Megathread - Crowdfunding

thanks for the detailed answer!

Invested in their previous round and will defo be doubling down!

I am interested in them , the only thing stopping me is that it’s on Crowdcube and no secondary market so your stuck with it until an exit ,

Depending on which round you funded, Monzo is already a winner when it IPOs - even with further share dilution.

Parcel2Go exit confirmed with 56% gain with funds to be paid shortly. Inc 5% dividend payment, that’s a total return of 61% which is pretty solid for 24 months. Yeah, would have liked to continue for more but I’ll take that every day of the week and reinvestment in new opportunities.

Re eFoldi I went quite large into that one In previous round as think there is some serious upside. Market leading products, patents, good supply chain, already profitable, massive market (aligned nicely with ageing population mega trend). My only comment is I’d like to see them bring in VCs now to really go hard with expansion outside UK, espech US.

My understanding is they are working with VCs at the moment but that process will take time. This raise, at the very least, is to make sure te group’s inventory stocking etc is strong ahead of the key summer selling season (these things also take a long time to produce!).

It’s rare, in my view, to find a opportunity with such a opportunity (aging pop mega trend), clear quality product, track record of hitting numbers and profitable.

I went small last round (mistake!) so have topped up.

Hi,
If you don’t mind!
Can you please tell us which one you are referring to?
Thanks

Sorry - I should have correctly hit reply(!). I’m referring to eFoldi.

Is Seeders and CrowdCube the best two sites for finding companies?

I would say so yes. The former benefiting from a secondary market but the latter seeming to have a higher calibre of company raising funds

Not to mention all the accounting apps that already scan receipts etc…
Bnext looks very much like the Spanish monzo.

P.S. Please be mindful that sometimes I cant comment on any more information than I’ve given, often because this is information that certain people don’t necessarily want to spread prematurely!

I know this means a lot of unanswered questions, which im sorry about, but I hope it’s worth it - some of the best scoops started out as rumours after all (Allplants, Cowboy, etc) so I ask for your patience in this respect  I would only ever suggest a rumour where there is material evidence, and I’m happy to give that evidence where possible. But please always remember, they are rumours, not a guarantee. Looking to ā€˜grade’ the likelihood of rumours materialising going forward, what do you think?

As some of you might know, ill be creating a Newsletter and Forum around crowdfunding, launching sometime in the new year

I will continue posting primarily on this thread for now, as its great to give freetrade buzz, but also to leverage their community, which has and continues to be a great testbed/environment for ideas, discussion and do on. In time, the newsletter or site will be the primary place I share this content. Im hoping to give the first 100 to sign up a little surprise. So If you haven’t already, please sign up here. I’ll start sending out emails in the new year. :christmas_tree:

Rumours: Bulb energy??? Please tell me is Bulb, I have been waiting them crowdfunding long time now, I ask them once and they said it is something they were considering at some point, but after the Ā£60 million investment from DTS last year I thought it wasn’t going to be anytime soon

Is this Bulb?

Any thoughts on Baanx?

Personally I would continue to keep it all here - so far it’s been great and your updates attract potentially new Freetrade customers.
