Do you have some public down counter of remaining free shares to be claimed.
Could have the counter reset every week?

How does the system for sending new referral links out? - is it on an account by account basis or do you mass refresh the links at some point?
Is there a reason why referees are even allowed to cash out immediately? Personally I would welcome them in with open arms and then throw away the keys on the free share for 3-12 months. Unless of course they get Imperial Tobacco or Glencore, that’s maybe too sadistic!
The banks I’ve stuck with following on from a referral have been those that offer an ongoing incentive, such as interest on the TSB account or a regular saver. Obviously the ongoing incentive here is in the name but perhaps if you lock them in for a period it’s an opportunity to get them to engage and teach them about investing with Freetrade, or investing in general, compounding etc.
The Coinbase approach seems to generate lots of engagement. It’s not the cheapest platform out there but I bet people are more inclined to use it, compared to their competitors, when they’ve spent some time earning their crypto tokens.
I wonder if you could go down the route of issuing the free shares in a similar manner? Or perhaps unlock the ability to trade that free share, or cash out, once the user has completed Freetrade education videos? A discounted second share purchase could work.
Referers shouldn’t have to be concerned about referees cashing out early. We should all just welcome them in, forever.
Just referred someone, all worked perfectly and as expected.
Might be ‘fixed’ now but at one point I did actually see the Freepass invite banner on my Android device, it was gone again next time I reloaded.
Now how do I get another one?
Now how do I get another one?
We’ll send another wave of free share invites soon. As @n1cks said, people should get that Monday hit.
Meanwhile, it’s time for us to look through and evaluate all the feedback above. We see exceptional demand and usage for free shares, but it’s important to prepare for the next iteration of this feature, so we’re ahead of the curve.

Right now we mass send them to the crowdfunding investors, but over time, we will give them account by account.
Referred a friend, they signed up, deposited and we both have a queued “mystery stock”.
Worked perfectly
Have completed a W-8BEN
This is required for mystery US stocks?
It’s required to use the feature at all at the moment. We don’t just give you U.K. stocks if you haven’t completed the form.
For me it worked fine as well.
I am waiting for the second link now. I hope we will get it soon
Are Android referrals still on track for this week?
Is there a reason why it takes “few weeks” to release the share? Is it because we are on testing phase, or it will be like that after the testing as well?
It’s probably timed to be just after the average new joiner actually invests their own money. Reducing the chances of someone receiving the share and cashing straight back out.

Yes it’s because this is an early version of the feature. We’re planning to give out the shares each Friday later on.
Just seen an update on crowdcube - android is now available
For crowdfunding investors, yes
When the free shares are distributed will they be distributed randomly? Or will you look at some data so that the people with a larger reach (I don’t know how you would/could quantify this) will become more likely to get the higher value shares as they can make a bigger song and dance about it to more people?
They’ll be given out at random, we won’t favour particular people.
Is this just for investors in the current round or does that include investors in previous rounds?
