The ultimate list of investing books, podcasts and blogs v2 💡

It’s been (exactly) two months since we launched the first version of our Ultimate List of investing books, podcasts and blogs. Since then, you’ve given us a lot of recommendations to include in the list :books: and we’ve moved it to Google Sheets in a new format, to make it easier to read :sparkles:

Today we’re launching a new version of the list:

The Ultimate List version 2.0

If you have any more suggestions, please share them in this thread and help us create the ultimate list of resources for investors.

PS - we’ve arranged for The Evidence-Based Investor, who’s on the list, to answer your questions here next week - Ask your questions for our Q&A with The Evidence-Based Investor :speech_balloon:

This is fantastic, thanks for keeping it all tidy and up to date. I wonder if we could possibly have permissions to sort the columns? Would like to be able to sort by Main Format.

We’ve set the link to a preview link because it looks pretty & we expect most people won’t bother with sorting. But you can sort the list, to do that, you just need to switch the link from a ‘preview’ link to an ‘edit’ link.

To do that, load the page & then change the text just before #gid at the end of the link from

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1jnYKZLNW9ajIpCDwyPD9pJkvNJTbyL5NbXobZ7fzeIk/preview#gid=422471276

to

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1jnYKZLNW9ajIpCDwyPD9pJkvNJTbyL5NbXobZ7fzeIk/edit#gid=422471276

then when you load the spreadsheet, it’ll look like this.

Next, go to Data (in the menu bar) > Filter Views > Format Filter. You’ll be able to use that filter to sort the ‘:ghost: Main Format’ column.

It’s a bit of a long winded process  but we had to choose between one format or the other & I hope you can see why we went with the preview format by default.

Just let me know if you get stuck at all.

The other thread is closed so I’ll suggest here (and surprised it wasn’t suggested already), but the Naked Trader series of books are rather sensible and great IMO.

I agree - an easy read with some really useful pointers in the Naked Trader

Great list! Was wondering if anyone had heard of MyWallSt before? It should definitely be on this list as they have a great blog on Medium (just search for MyWallSt) , podcast ( https://pod.link/1358756008) and newsletter (https://upscri.be/68ad56/). They have information for every type of investor, always find myself going back to them for any question I might have!

Could include the authors as well. Thanks for the list

How about Irrational Exuberance by Robert J. Shiller, it’s a classic!

The spreadsheet definitely needs a column for the authors.

Do you recommend: “How I Made $2,000,000 in the Stock Market”? I started listening to the modernized version on Audible, looks good.

Great list - thanks for this.

It’s probably also worth mentioning that a lot of the books detailed are available on Blinkist, which is a good way of getting a flavour for a book quickly before potentially going on and buying the full book.

I found The Long and the Short of It by John Kay to be a good introduction. His Other Peoples Money also makes for an interesting read.

Pretty new to investing and really enjoying all the useful posts on here. There are some great youtubers and blogs - could these all be grouped together somewhere to make it easier to find and follow them? (Apologies if this already happens and I’ve missed it )

Best book I’ve read this year is Atomic Habits by James Clear. I will no doubt read this book again maybe even this coming year. It’s not about investing per se but about motivation and fostering good habits. Definitely can be applied to learning, business and investing
