It’s been (exactly) two months since we launched the first version of our Ultimate List of investing books, podcasts and blogs. Since then, you’ve given us a lot of recommendations to include in the list and we’ve moved it to Google Sheets in a new format, to make it easier to read
This is fantastic, thanks for keeping it all tidy and up to date. I wonder if we could possibly have permissions to sort the columns? Would like to be able to sort by Main Format.
We’ve set the link to a preview link because it looks pretty & we expect most people won’t bother with sorting. But you can sort the list, to do that, you just need to switch the link from a ‘preview’ link to an ‘edit’ link.
To do that, load the page & then change the text just before #gid at the end of the link from
then when you load the spreadsheet, it’ll look like this.
Next, go to Data (in the menu bar) > Filter Views > Format Filter. You’ll be able to use that filter to sort the ‘ Main Format’ column.
It’s a bit of a long winded process but we had to choose between one format or the other & I hope you can see why we went with the preview format by default.
The other thread is closed so I’ll suggest here (and surprised it wasn’t suggested already), but the Naked Trader series of books are rather sensible and great IMO.
Great list! Was wondering if anyone had heard of MyWallSt before? It should definitely be on this list as they have a great blog on Medium (just search for MyWallSt) , podcast ( https://pod.link/1358756008) and newsletter (https://upscri.be/68ad56/). They have information for every type of investor, always find myself going back to them for any question I might have!
It’s probably also worth mentioning that a lot of the books detailed are available on Blinkist, which is a good way of getting a flavour for a book quickly before potentially going on and buying the full book.
Pretty new to investing and really enjoying all the useful posts on here. There are some great youtubers and blogs - could these all be grouped together somewhere to make it easier to find and follow them? (Apologies if this already happens and I’ve missed it )
Best book I’ve read this year is Atomic Habits by James Clear. I will no doubt read this book again maybe even this coming year. It’s not about investing per se but about motivation and fostering good habits. Definitely can be applied to learning, business and investing
