Hey @simonpoole et al.
I wanted to bring this idea back up.
A while ago freetrade decided to switch from pence to pounds ( Pricing UK securities ). It not a bad idea, the reasoning sounds like it makes sense and while it’s useful to have the option to see prices in £ I wanted to suggest that this isn’t actually working as freetrade had intended.
With freetrade having prices in £ instead of the industry standard in the UK being in pence it means nothing translates outside of the app.
There are still numerous posts from users who have misunderstood pricing because of freetrades decision to list prices in a non standard way 2 years after you had said people would only be confused with the initial change over.
I myself have found this frustrating having to convert (as easy as the conversion is) from pounds to pence every single time I look at literally anything that isn’t freetrade. Which is a lot.
Put simply freetrades use of £ makes the app harder to use not easier as soon as you want to actually know anything about what you’re buying.
IMO we really need an option to actually choose how we want to display our pricing data because this is increasingly frustrating and is also confusing new customers.
