You can’t trade on the weekend or out of exchange hours.

Aside from public holidays the markets are open -
UK 08:30 - 16:30
US 14:30 - 21:00
Outside of these time orders will be queued to happen at 10:00 and 15:00 respectively. If you click on to the stock you wish to trade, under recent activity you’ll see you queued order.
