Coronavirus, lousy exchange rates, Brexit, terrorism, scams, numerous firms going bust, general world uncertainty, staycation expansion etc.
Perhaps there’s no one reason to stop travel there but the list seems to grow and grow. With so many other sectors as options can anybody give me some reasons to invest in this area?

Am with you, I am staying away from holiday travel. Had one free referral share in On the Beach, nose dived with nearly 26% in six weeks time.
