Update re. St George Street Capital

Further to the update released by Vela on 9 July 2021, the Board of Vela notes the recent update published by Excalibur Medicines Limited (“EML”) on the status of the ARCADIA clinical trial to test SGS002 (“the Asset”), a drug that could be beneficial to diabetic patients suffering from COVID-19. The Company had previously announced that the final formal report with the results of the ARCADIA trial was expected in late August 2021.

The update published yesterday by EML advises that the ARCADIA clinical team will publish a report on the results of the trial on 6 September 2021.

EML, a subsidiary of Excalibur Healthcare Services, a company founded by Professor Sir Christopher Evans, is working closely with St George Street Capital Limited (“SGS”) on the research project.

Details of Vela’s economic interest in the potential commercialisation of the Asset, the Asset and the ARCADIA trial were included in the announcement published by Vela on 20 October 2020.

SGS holds 1,100,000,000 ordinary shares in Vela, representing 7.84 per cent. of Vela’s issued share capital. SGS’s ordinary shares are subject to a lock-in agreement until the successful completion of Phase II of the ARCADIA trial, or for a period of two months following completion of the ARCADIA trial, should the outcome of the trials not meet the minimum threshold.

Reminder concerning placing warrants

The Board of Vela would also like to remind any holders of the placing warrants issued in August 2020, as originally announced on 31 July 2020, that these will expire on 1 September 2021. There has been no change to the terms of these warrants as set out in the 31 July 2020 announcement.

Some hefty buys today.I think someone knows something. The RNS we have been waiting for could drop anytime!!

Hey guys and gals, is this still worth a shot? Looks good on paper but has no movement for a while.
Im only thinking a small amount anyway (25£ of my tesla gains lol)
Doesnt seem to have much action in here since September so just wondering if there is ñews since the last update posted above?

Hello Mate,

I’ve been in since June.I’ve seen the share diminish month after month.

We are still awaiting some kind of deal from the phase 2 trials.

The trouble with vela is they either don’t know how to use social media or they just can’t be bothered

The SP is sinking becuase there is no news at all.

People are really getting fed up

Having said that any news of a deal and this share will take off.

Being Devils advocate, On the flip side not using social media to pump the price is better as it may give a more stable and realistic SP. :stuck_out_tongue: Nothing worse than a stock reacting to SM and not the business basic.

Just a personal opinion mate,as a small shareholder I’d like to be kept upto date with what the company are upto.Vela don’t seem to communicate at all. What’s the motive for new investors at the moment?

I wasn’t knocking your view, hence the devils advocate comment. :+1: My point is it could be better to not waste time on social media and concentrate 100% on your product. Maybe not correct but plenty of very successful companies don’t use it.

I know.I didn’t take it that way.Just a very frustrating share at the moment,for me anyway.

What happened to this stock? Is there a reason it went down to 0.0003? I can’t find one on Google, but i might not be understanding the information im reading.
Luckily i sold up in November so only lost a tiny amount, but im wondering if getting in at such a cheap price would be a good idea can’t really lose much if i put 100 in at 0.0003 average (unless of course it goes to 0.0000. even then it’ll only be 100£)

I might be wrong but I think there is a graph issue with £VELA.

At the AGM in December they announced a stock consolidation of 50-1 to happen on 24th Jan. the graph tanks because I think the share price and the float no longer match. I’ve flagged this with the gang at FT.

The yahoo data supplier has normalised this action.
