What is going on today? - Megathread

How has everyone done today? A new week, a new day to watch the traffic lights of green and red.

My VWRP investments are back in the green after an impressive 2.67% rally today, but none of my other ETFs have been able to fully recover the losses they made last week. Emerging markets went down today, which is a shame. So, most of my portfolio is still red, but not as bad as last week.

I opened two small new positions today; £WOOD and £FXPO, both already in the green but for how long I don’t know. £WOOD almost 4% up in the day and Ferrexpo went up an impressive 6%, both are things I intend to hold for 10+ years if possible.

I’ve managed to scrape up tiny gains over the last few red weeks. Feels strange to go up so much in one day considering i started investing in that red patch.

still down :frowning:

I’m up today, regained some of Friday’s losses. Finally offloaded MGC Pharmaceuticals too after being unsure for the past few days. That investment was a mistake. I just invested in ARB through primary bid at a good offer amount. Hopefully that doesn’t turn out bad. I like the prospects of this company.

Not a bad day but could have been better.

ETF’s are OK (fingers crossed).

Tech is still struggling.
Think it’s still being corrected :thinking:

Hopefully we can have a good week.

A solid start for me. SMT pulled back some today; but global clean energy is pulling me down about 22% still

Arbor Realty? They look very very good all round, but I’ve held off because I’m told that you have to analyse REITS in a different way to stocks. Too much legwork for me!

The US futures this morning seems to suggest Tech is back in the green this afternoon, but we’ll see!

Yeah same here. I think that one is just going to be in the red for six months. The 20-30p gains at the moment are nice to see but then the reds were 50p+ per day, and I’m sure we will see more dips in the near future?

A good article here, IMO.

ARB is Argo Blockchain. Arbor Realty is ABR. I don’t know anything about ABR.

Really nice to see that little gains.
Especially from SMT and INRG lol
I’m still down though!
I’m guessing it’ll drop come end of day.
SQ and SHOP are killing me.
I should have sold ages ago!!!
I’m praying for them to rise up again then I can off land the suckers!!

ARB is an odd one yesterday I was green today I’m red.
Same goes with KNB.

Shopify long-term, is a good hold I reckon. They have grown incredibly well this past year. Of course, do your own research.

S and P Might just get away without a big correction ? Or is this a bull trap?

Hard to tell on the NASDAQ100, just buy?

Mercury is out of retrograde which I believe is a very bullish signal

Who knows?

All World is down despite the majority of markets being up. I have no idea how any of this works! :stuck_out_tongue:

I bet you’re a capricorn, so cynical smh

It feels like the market is somewhat waiting for stimulus, don’t know think it will make a huge difference financially but just in terms of confidence. Plus Bidens said all americans will be vaccinated by May.

The next shake up in the market will be Q3 earnings 2021. Reshuffling by seasoned investors happening at the moment. Positioning your portfolio to be holding quality at a price that is unlikely to correct significantly.

They say only make projections so far out that people forget you ever said them. I’ll break that rule:

Next 3 years:
• Nasdaq & tech = Neutral/Correcting
• Europe & Asia = Growth
• Quality individual stock investors = Beating the market
