Which stock are you going to buy during the dip due to coronavirus?

Sure but the share price history extends beyond this. Shell operated a slightly unique dual entity listing approach prior to unification. If you worked for shell before the unification your shares were converted and so it is not completely true to say it is the lowest price ever. The company did not make an IPO in 1987.

I bought some Shell, Legal & General and Barclay’s yesterday. I don’t think we have bottomed out yet but the valuations were getting too good.

https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2020-03-16/credit-suisse-says-it-s-time-for-investors-to-buy-some-stocks

“Those whose current equity allocation has declined below the strategic level and who can tolerate the elevated volatility, should begin to build up equity positions,” the Swiss lender’s Global Chief Investment Officer Michael Strobaek wrote in a note.

Credit Suisse’s sell-side analysts echo Strobaek’s bullish view, expecting a V-shaped recovery and a rise of 15-20% in equity markets over the next 12 months.

Looks like @AJHY has a Bloomie and is working from home? That’s a browser window, isn’t it.

Well spotted but still in the office
for now :sunglasses:

Don’t want to sound stupid but is a V shaped recovery going to drop further down before it heads back up?

Petition to replace the word ‘dip’ in the topic with the phrase ‘plummeting hell cliff’.

Nothing stupid about that question!!!

V shapes means a sharp drop down, but then a very sharp and quick recovery back up again. An U shaped one will go back up as well, but will spend more time at the bottom before it goes up again - a slower burn recovery. A L-shaped one would be a crash, and then a sustained bear market with no meaningful recovery for quite some time.

The jury is out!

Roku would be interesting as wel if it would be on FreeTrade:

  • Revenue grew up 52% yoy to $1.13 billion.
  • Platform revenue increased to $740.8 million up 78% yoy.
  • Platform revenue increased to $740.8 million up 78% yoy.
  • Average Revenue Per User (ARPU) increased $5.19 yoy to $23.14 (trailing 12-month basis) and up 29% yoy.
  • The company now trades at 5x 2020 revenue, and that’s a bargain in the long term.

Trading around $70, used to be at 171 at the top.

Is it too early to say the share price is replicating the 737 Max

Mimics the flight path of their faulty 737 max?

Edit: @Codf makes the exact same joke at the exact same time. Doh.
