Fantastic news from ANIC investee Solar Foods. Factory production of Solein protein has begun. Essentially a production line equivalent to a 300 cow dairy farm.

Not only have ANIC investee secured $40m they also have a traditional farm to slaughter company on board in the shape of ($3bn net) PHW group

Lab meat companies starting to get right of reply to the last six months of negative press. Meatable CEO speaking here.

Interesting to note that Univeristy Califotnia Davis, the university who supplied the science behind all rigour used in arguments against lab meat have since apologised for the paper. Unsurprising since their argument was based on processes that have not been used in making lab meat for nearly five years.

Im curious @ChrisGM you seem to be very invested in the news surrounding Agronomics and the industry.

What is your price target and time range?

Are you following similar investment vehicles such as molten ventures, forward partners (just got acquired by molten), augmentum and seed?

It is very, very early days for cellular agriculture (especially meat) and it is rather interesting to see how the industry develops (at a pace) alongside media attention.

Of the companies you mention only Seed is invested in cellular agriculture companies. I’ve had a cursory glance so please do feel free to underline any companies I’ve missed. Seed invest in Clean Food Group (as do ANIC). Most of their money is in cannabis and Juvenescence (another Jim Mellon venture).

There are a few specialists on various exchanges: Steakholder Foods (3d meat printer - NASDAQ), CULT (meat and precision fermentation - Canada), and the better known SMT has a slice of Upside (chicken). There may be others but ANIC is so far as I know the only public company that represents the spectrum of cellular agriculture.

Good question about my exit. It really is way way to early to even think about and in all earnest I’m likely building up a holding to pass on to my children, who are very young. ANIC have a 10 year cash runway but no companies that are out to market. Next year there will be a plethora of companies hitting the commercial market backed or founded by ANIC cash. I’ve a sober view and dont see the market taking real notice until maybe 2026. The share price may have further drops in it, it is beholden to macro factors at the moment.

Despite the loud noises being made by the southern US states , Italy and France, there really is no sound rationale against the industry. A charitable view might suggest farming job security, yet, even on that note, law makers are strangling farming subsidies so even that makes little sense. And lab meat companies are creating a new sector and working with farms increasingly (e.g. Ivy Farms). The real question here is who will win the race to change legislation. The EU is too vast in opinion, likely it will be China or the US. The UK has an outside chance perhaps.

Companies in cellular agriculture (not just ANIC) are making strides towards commercialisation and upscalling on a weekly basis and in a time when funding in nascent industries is possibly the worst it has been for living memory. It is a when not an if but it is still very, very early.

ANIC investee Solar Foods raises an additional €8m. They recently announced going operational with their factory producing the Solein (equivalent to a daily production of a 300 cow herd).

Great to see lab meat taking leaps in Italy (non ANIC). And this is in spite of current PM Meloni.

ANIC net asset value worth 16.98p per share which is up around 50p on valuation earlier this year. Current share price at around 8p. Recent articles on Florida will not have helped and continuuing inflation/interest rates mean that discount will persist. Institutions are going to be interested in revenue and ANIC wont see any significant income until second half of 2025 at earliest. However, the 10 year cash runway is in the land of the microcap an attractive draw once rates drop and Liberation Labs is operational.
