Yeah, it’s just a split. Reverse split would be reducing the number of shares and increasing the value of each share. I can see a reverse slit might be an issue with fractionals, and the number of shares might not divide easily. But surely in this case you just multiply the amount by 4?
Oops my bad, I was thinking of the ACB split, that was a reverse split, Apple is a forward split you are correct.
I’m learning on the fly too! Its why I like the forum so much, I get quite an education here at times
Competitors are having an issue with it, hopefully FT wont but I’d like to hear their stance to be sure
Hopefully Freetrade will say something sooner rather than later! It’s getting more and more expensive to get to the nearest whole share!
Hi @Jim1, sorry for the delay.
Checking this out for you, and will post a response on here.
Cheers @Freetrade_Team
Apple on track to move from 12% of the DOW go around 3% due to the price weighted nature of the index. Will massively impact correlation between the three indices and traders will need to reconsider strategies
Hey @Freetrade_Team any word on this yet?
Hi Oli, no final update but our preference is, of course, to be as accurate as possible — which would mean awarding fractions of shares as close to the exact amount as possible.
We’ll keep you updated on here with more updates when we have them.
That’s brill @Freetrade_Team thanks for the response
It would be nice if governments shut all the loopholes and made the company pay the expected level of tax!
What on earth is Apple going to do with its colossal war chest though in order to drive future growth? I can’t imagine them ever licencsing out their new processors no matter how much of a good earner that could be.
Apple are the licensee of the new ARM chips, ARM (currently held by Softbank but potentially being sold to one of a few other companies) is the one who licenses them out.
I imagine with their volumes they can command quite a good deal on the license though.
I would imagine acquisitions on the tech side, become further vertically integrated.
Plus there’s plenty of ways to splosh the dosh on expensive original films and shows for Apple TV.
Am I the only one that finds it quite funny that Russia has a competition watchdog? There’s some irony there…
You would be surprised but there are sectors that are extremely competitive in Russia.
Fintechs in EU are years behind product-wise.
Just bonkers. Correction: stonkers.
At the rate that we keep pumping new money from no where into the system i expect we’ll hit $3 trillion at some point
