Would like live quotes when buying and selling? And why do we always get the worst prices

Any evidence to back up that you ‘always’ get the worst prices ? Use a limit order if you have a specific price in mind.

Will always buy at the high price

Ok please give an example. If it always happens it should be easy to demonstrate a recent occurrence.

Also worth reading and digesting this

If you are trading in illiquid small companies the market is not very deep and the bid/ask spread is often jolly wide.

A good example of this is a ridiculous stock like TM1…

Price is 0.0085 (15m delayed, so you’re already flying blind)

If you do an instant buy (unable to know you’re hitting the live ask at 0.0090), then an instant sell (unable to know you’re hitting the live bid at 0.0080)…

Batta-bing batta-boom, you’re down -10% in less than 1m.

Yikes!

That’s likely the bid/ask spread…

Indeed it is.

Freetrade don’t even display it…

Just the free / delayed spread would be informative - it’d be easy to implement!

limit orders are definitely the way to go.

Yeah I agree with that 99% of complaints about order prices on this forum are probably down to Bid/Ask spread. I think Freetrade thought they were simplifying things by not showing it, but they are actually creating confusion

Yep an easy add on to show the Bid/Ask
