The word ācomplacencyā springs to mind
My mouse cursor turns invisible on that site, not a great start on a design teamās websiteā¦
I saw an IG commercial on YouTube last night advertising their āfree commissionā stocks and shares app. And guess what,⦠it looked identical to the old version of the free trade app.
You couldnāt make it up.
Interesting⦠I wonder if thats why we had the enforced change? Maybe a rushed reaction to an IP cease and desist?
- pure speculation.
Ironically the new app reminds me of stake now. Except it was much better executed in stake and the app looked great with this font, and this is the important bit - the app actually worked.
Having an app where you canāt even click on the activity feed without it crashing and upon complaining to support to just be told that their engineers know about it and thereās nothing they can do at the moment is simply unacceptable.
Finally got an email reply.
Just a long winded way of saying ātough, youāll just have to get used to it because we canāt be arsed to change it back.ā
"Hi there
Apologies for the delay in getting back to you - thanks for your patience with us, we really appreciate it.
Thanks for sharing your feedback, we really appreciate you taking the time to let us know how you feel about the recent app design changes.
I completely understand that design changes can be frustrating, especially when youāre used to a certain layout and style. While we canāt roll back the update, please know that our team has made these changes to support long-term improvements in accessibility, performance, and usability.
Iāve raised your email as a Feature Request for our Product team to look into so hopefully we can include it in future releases.
We also collect our customersā suggestions in the community so that others can vote on them & help us prioritise what we should build. Please do add your vote.
Itās always good to hear more about how youād use them too, if you fancy sharing that - it might get some discussion going.
Let me know if you have any other questions.
Best,
Freetrade Team"
So we are on the third update since roll out now.
Hi, Iām Francis from the Engineering team here at Freetrade. Thank you for reporting on this issue and apologies for the inconvenience that this has caused. This has been a priority to fix and we have released a new version of the Android app yesterday 5.202524.3 which addresses the crash on the Activity screen for users with a large number of activity feed items. I notice that you likely experienced a crash again this morning and it looks like you are still running the .2 version, please can you download the latest version of the app when you are ready and check whether this resolves the issue for you. Apologies for the inconvenience and thank you for reporting.
And has it been resolved @Rcllondon or havenāt you updated it yet ? Incase they decide to lose your money theyāll be next all very shocking and shoddy work.
