Freetrade Team
When you invest, your capital is at risk. The value of your portfolio can go down as well as up and you may get back less than you invest.
Freetrade does not give investment advice and you are responsible for making your own investment decisions. If you are unsure about what is right for you, you should seek independent advice.
New CEO, new status of profitability, new web platform, new increased rate of feature rollouts…
I think it’s a good time for a refresh as the company moves into a new era!
It always takes time to get used to these things and, I’m sure it will grow in me in the same way that I got used to retina burning hot pink with accents of even more pink.
So there seems to be an inconsistancy with letter spacing on the website. The use of negative spacing on the H1 heading (-1.4px) in my eyes at least is not good practice, the text here doesn’t need tightning.
As @Jim_mcgrain is alluding to blocks of text with with a 1.4px doesn’t really sit right (does look like retro video game text) and if you are going to use the extra spacing between letters to emphasise importance to certain aspects, doing it on paragraphs sort of defeats that purpose.
Small thing which maybe a production error but in the footer the link Execution venues (TBD). TBD has been included I imagine it was to be looked at in development and somebody has forgotton the remove that tag at the end of the text when it went live.
People really don’t like change
I think it’s a good time to change the branding, and marketing is something I don’t really understand. I just hope that in one month everyone is talking how better Freetrade is with the new colour scheme. Also, pink was somehow a “feminine” tone, and could be putting off some “masculine” investors. Again, not someone that knows marketing very well.
I like the font choices, hope some of that will feed into the app.
Don’t mind the purple choice either. The only things I’d ensure is that there’s a light and dark brand used on the apps. As this is good for accessibility
The purple did remind me of kraken a bit but only because they’re using more of it. It looks like it’s the same purple Freetrade already use on some buttons
It’s fine. I hope they keep the pink/purple highlights and don’t just make it all austere white on black.
It feels very trading terminal like, which is clearly what they’re trending towards. But trading terminal folks already have plenty of products geared towards them, and freetrade should be for everyone.
