Some bank cards don’t have the sort code and account number on, so I’m not sure how well that would work.

It could be just an optional button if you click a button “scan the card” rather then input yourself. A nice augmented benefit 
Uber is a great example. Very easy to use and onboard a payment card into the app

It is a card payment but the technology is the same - scanning what is on the card. The only difference to make is to change the scanning locations from 16 digits + dates to sort code with account number.
There are no bank details on credit cards in France. Making a feature possibly limited to the UK only?
On debit cards, not credit cards
Sorry, I am using the two terms interchangeably. I meant debit/credit cards.
Not all cards do this so it seems a lot of effort for a small gain, especially since that tech mostly is used for the long card number. Monzo comes up often here and their cards don’t show it.
