Iād just like to echo what Viktor says and add some perspective from the Product team.
We read all of the feedback and requests that you make here and we are working on a number of highly requested ones right now.
The content that weāve started to roll out, and will soon be appearing on everyoneās Discover tab following A/B testing on Android and iOS is an experiment with a new content delivery system.
Weāve got really great engagement with our existing content, like our Honey newsletter, and we wanted to start looking at ways that we could let you read this content in the app. This is an opportunity testing the delivery of content into the app and is just the first step in that direction if successful we can explore other methods of including timely and relevant content to customers in the app.
As mentioned, this delivery is light touch and has certainly not dragged valuable engineering time away from critical projects like EU rollout, crypto and many other big workstreams. As noted above, we are running an A/B test, if successful then we will iterate on the feature as necessary, however, if itās not successful then we have no issue removing the feature from the app.
Additionally, we are working on more features we can deliver quicker to our customers such as nationality declaration stocks, improved stock fundamentals, tax statements and the web beta coming soon to Plus customers. We know these have been long standing requests and we are focused on getting these live.
Hi @hookedinvesting - your feedback is appreciated and itās important in the shaping of the product. Building on the point above we are running an A/B test to assess the value of the feature. If we see that customers are engaging with it and getting value from the content then we will continue to optimise it further (V2). However, if itās not successful then we have no issue removing the feature from the app.
Yes please. There is still so much low hanging fruit that has been left to rot on the branches. These should not take significant engineering resources to complete.
Rolling these out on a consistent basis would give a huge sense of progression and momentum to the user base, more so than just more stocks in countries that are yet to launch, or generic financial news.
Imagine the response, and the reduction in customer service requests had you managed to ship (or even just email) annual tax statements before tax return day. Priorities please.
Seems a pointless exercise for me but I acknowledge others may love it. TBH I donāt see the point of anything that diverts people away from the app unless really important and people can/should DYOR from preferred/trusted sources.
I actually canāt find the feature on my phone anyhow
its not been rolled out to everyone yet I donāt think @Big-g
Iām hoping Freetrade integrate the community into the app in a clean and effective way. There are some pretty exciting possibilities if your buying it from the ground up.
About the community or news parts I hope to hell they keep separate. My app already uses far too much space for what it should and having news that is not actually FT sourced is just pointless to me. The thing I love about FT app is the clean simple set up and links to news sources I donāt want are sooooooo far from priority it couldnāt be less needed.
Maybe on the online version is ok but not the app or it will just become too like Etorro which is cluttered with social etc and nowhere near as nice to use as the FT in its current form.
Of course, Iām just thinking from my view and not the optics FT may be aiming for.
I like to see Freetrade create a super app for all you investing needs, the community will be a star in the constellation along with daily insights & everything else you need before making an investment.
Iām not a tech guy @Big-g so canāt say I know how to keep an app streamlined, Iām sure itās possible.
It appeared in my app yesterday, and I must say itās a nice little experiment, which gives more exposure to the Invest Hub news from the website. I like that (for me) it runs in an in-app browser with progress bar but doesnāt have all the website links etc. Bit more elegant than say the display of the SIPP terms.
Certainly no earth-shattering feature, but if itās an experiment to gather insight into user behaviour while promoting journalistic content, thatās fine by me.
