Odd. In a way this justifies the limit on referrals and the tighter controls on which influencers get to promote FT, but on the other hand they obviously got this one wrong.

Bit of a slap on the wrist, hopefully Freetrade complies and it doesn’t go any further.

TBF it is hard to argue with the FCA, why would you use people like this to promote your product in a responsible way? Seems at odds with the ethos FT promote. Personally I wish Social media advertising was banned unless it had a permanent highlighted banner saying “THIS IS AN ADVERT” at all times and not a sneaky # mixed in with many others at the bottom.

With the addition of other European markets it would seem they have done the work to support those markets.

So I would guess they are still waiting for regulator approval in Sweden, once they have that they can start rolling out in Sweden and passport across Europe to launch in France etc.

@DanLane got a mention in this piece about BHP and Glencore.

“Touting the work the company is doing in reducing its exposure to fossil fuels is one thing but while its peers are distancing themselves from coal, Glencore seems happy to hang onto it and deplete its use ‘responsibly’,” said Dan Lane, senior analyst at Freetrade. “The best PR machine out there wouldn’t be able to convince the market that the coal division is a sustainable or responsible one.”

Kind of sad to see this project coming near completion and with different a different sponsor. The old videos appear to have the Freetrade ad read bit still.
