Freetrade transfer offer 🄳

I have two shares pending! It does state that I need to top up, which I will ignore considering that they have awarded because of the transfer.
It also says that it could take 7-10 days to reveal the shares.

The process seems to need some fine tuning. But they are in my account

I received mine today. Just saying to ease any concern.

Nothing for me yet but sure it will arrive havent had any issues previously

Hey @Eden can you drop me a DM here with the email you use with the app? Need to look into this to double check. It should be awarded based on transfers and deposits!

Hi
I’ve still received no share/s despite promises on here and via private chat.
I’m now not getting a response and posts on here not being approved.

resolved
Thanks.

Hi @happysaks

The forum is set up so that the first few posts anyone makes are moderated just to help everyone understand our community rules.

If you can confirm whether the email you use on the forum is the same as the one you use on the app, I can get the team to investigate this and respond to you.

I’ll send you a DM here too.

Best,
Alex

Says I’ve earned a free share but it will be revealed in 7 to 10 days? Unless that’s an old notice from historic referalls.

Have to say I’m not impressed.

It said the same to me yesterday, but it was revealed to me today. So I don’t think it will take the 7-10 days.

Free share revealed yesterday, correct me if I’m wrong but aren’t all free shares revealed on a Thursday?

The free shares for these special campaigns are awarded through special processes. Our normal process which is fairly automated for free shares. For these special tiered awards there’s a bit more manual work involved. We also have to sense check the value of the awarded share is at or above the stated value (given that shares can rise and fall while markets are open!).

Am I the only person who didn’t realise I had to transfer the funds from another GIA, ISA or SIPP to be eligible, not just from my bank account AND to hold an annual subscription rather than a monthly one?

Clearly I didn’t read the full T&Cs first time round, but I think the comms could have been clearer on this. The annual subscription issue isn’t even particularly clear in the T&Cs the way it is worded, only when you read the FAQs and only the FAQs make it clear that the transfer should be from an existing GIA, ISA or SIPP as far as I can tell.

Am I just being stupid here? I could also argue excluding one type of subscriber from the promotion is potentially not following FCA guidelines of fairness in promotions but also a marketing own goal. I would’ve happily changed my type of subscription had I known.

You’re certainly not the only one.

I’m pretty sure I read the terms and it was a simple top-up.

Also, I was pretty sure you could make a subsequent withdrawal as long as your balance didn’t fall below the orignal level of the top up. E.g. you could have 20k in your account, you top up 20k and you got Ā£200 share as long as your total balance didn’t fall below 20k i.e. theres no way to know which "bit’ you’d be withdrawing from. Apparently you couldn’t make any withdrawals at all from your account for the 3-5 months after you’d topped up.

Seems to me like a very poorly executed promotion that’s gonna leave a nasty taste in a lot of members’ mouths as there’s a lot of nit-picking and delys when it’s come to getting paid out.

Personnly, I’ve been done out of a Ā£100 share. Only got an Ā£100 one instead of Ā£200 and that was after over 20 emails and some intervention from the communications guy on this forum.

It said on the initial email that an active subscription was required, it wasn’t hidden in the T&Cs page.

The condition around keeping the balance the above the deposit was reasonable, otherwise people could of just completed a transfer a week after depositing which isn’t rewarding loyalty.

Yup, but apparently you had to have a yearly subscription, not a monthly one.

As for the balance, yes, of course it would be ridiculous to allow you to just draw it out, but if you already had a balance, say Ā£100,000 you should be allowed to draw some of that out. The terms were as long as your balance doesn’t fall below your topped up amount you did for the promotion. That’s logical.
Apparently you weren’t allowed to draw out your balance you already had in your account.

I understand you now, I have just checked the two emails I got alerting me to the offer.

The first one which has just been paid out does not mention the annual subscription in the the email but the second one has the below within the body of the email:

*Annual subscriptions must be active at the time of awarding.

I’m at my wits end with Freetrade. Will be moving to another service for the new tax year.

Made the qualifying transfers (I’m a paying subscriber) in January and haven’t heard a peep from them about the transfer offer or the bonus since. It really loses trust, making me feel that if I were to not to chase it down the reward would not be paid. ā€œWithin 90 days or campaign completionā€ - clearly not.

The chatbot advised me to speak to support then didn’t even supply a link or method to speak to support.

You should be able to message them in the app. @acamp can probably help
