I believe many do this. My only experience is vanguard which deposits the tax relief as cash.
They have an auto invest type of thing in the works but i dont believe its ready yet

HL do it. The combination of that functionality plus automatic investment of my monthly Direct Debit makes for a powerful regular investment tool ( albeit with 0.45% platform fee )
I suppose you could set up a standing order, that covers that.
I don’t disagree with you though, i’m not overly fussed about it, at least not at the moment (maybe if they still haven’t got some automatic investing options by next year). a 19 year old platform vs a 2 year old platform id hope HL provides far more features
I’ve signed up to the mailing list and one day I’ll move over to FT for SIPP - but I need more ETFs, investment trusts and funds in general before I can move across.
Actually it’s not as bad as I first though - On the list of IT’s on the FT website many IT’s are not listed but I was able to find them in the app when searching manually. For instance EWI.
EWI is on both the website list and the google sheets list. but the website list does have a few bugs still so it depends how you search it
google sheet: Freetrade Investment Universe [Public] - Google Sheets
And yes, there is a good number of investment trusts now. More to come i hope
Thanks!
This is a very key point. Two process is key for this adaptation to be successful.
How easy the process of transferring your pension from another platform.
An innovative auto-invest feature (This has to be a statement feature). This needs to be really good. Not for only SIPP’s but for the ISA & GIA accounts.
I will wait and see the process and the how well the product works before making the switch.
With the SIPP is this mean you gonna collect the 25% uplift from HMRC automatically? How would that work?
I seem to have also not received any email
Yeah, no email here either. I had joined an update list previously.
It sounds as if you won’t get another email if you have previously (and forgotten like I did) signed up too the wait list. Perhaps in app chat will confirm better than the forum for individual cases.
Hm, I searched and couple fined a previous sipp email, so no idea
I was the same and had massive FOMO. worth asking here or in app just in case. I think this might have been a busy feature lately
Everyone that didn’t get a confirmation email had been on the waiting list. If you joined it before this promotion started, you’re still eligible. Feel free to DM me here to make sure you are on the waiting list if any doubt!
Cool, thanks Viktor
Do you mean 20%? Typically this is how SIPPs work yes, and then if you’re a higher rate tax payer (and thus eligible for further tax relief) then this needs to be sorted via your annual self-assessment.
It would be 25% of what you’ve contributed - say you put £100 in you’d get an additional £25 topped up (20% of the £125 total).
I find the £120 / year fee expensive!
Currently, I have £10k in my SIPP paying 0.45% for the SIPP and 0.2% for the fund I’m invested in = £65 / year.
I think if you included a free S+S ISA and free SIPP within Plus then I would be happy to pay around £12 / month.
That’s not correct- are you getting confused with the LISA?
Just like other pensions, investments in SIPPs grow free from Income Tax and Capital Gains Tax . You also get tax relief on your pension contributions. Any money you invest in your SIPP will be topped up by 20% by the taxman, and higher or additional-rate taxpayers can claim back a further 20% or 25% respectively.
