When setting up your transfer it’s not visually obvious that you can copy the reference code. Just a nice little symbol it something to indicate it’s something you can copy would be

How do you copy the code as that little thing on the right does nothing?

Could you try pasting after you’ve tapped it? If that doesn’t work, drop us a message on the live chat please.
I don’t know if it even copied, the phone vibrates as if it does but nothing transfers to MacBook nor does it paste to anything on the phone.
