I just saw this news on CNBC
Wow, that’s big news!!!
Leaving with immediate effect? Getting a big pay off or still stuck with his shares like the rest of us?
Total faith in @Viktor, looking forward to this new era.
Let’s hope this is a Tom Blomfeld moment for Freetrade
Probably somebody coming from outside (Monzo style) would have been better but good luck to Viktor!!
I’d hope stuck with his shares all of our interests are aligned.
Funny thing is I have also been with Freetrade for 8 years and would like an out
Unless Viktor takes us to the moon then I suppose I can wait
Thankful to Adam for helping to spearhead commission free trading in the UK by a homegrown company. Viktor has always seemed an objective driven leader, so hopefully he can push the company in the direction it needs without distractions…
- If I was worth tens of millions on paper I’d have intrusive thoughts on buying a farm and getting my pilots license
12% I think it said, so at one point Adam was worth £78 million?
Dodds said in comments shared with CNBC. “We almost died so many times it’s hard to count.”
Yeah I read that, and part of me sh*t myself and another part thought “we survived!”
I’d like to hope we are past that kind of rollercoaster ride now please.
I wonder if Adam has just reached burnout point after so many years and probably long hours he feels that he needs to prioritise his family and himself. Can’t blame him really!
Would have been nice for him to get the company to IPO though.
Suggests we are a way off going public if you don’t want to see it out to that natural conclusion. But respect the choice to prioritise family, no one knows what’s going on in other people’s lives
Agreed, this isn’t a concern for me I think after 8 years he has had enough. I’ve been at my current job for 6 and I have had enough and I know I have had significantly less stress!
Brewdog’s founder stepped down last week and I took that to suggest an impending IPO.
I’ve been calling for @adam to step down for a while.
“Dodds added: “I’m very happy to say Viktor will be stepping up to take over the helm as CEO. I’ll be doing everything I can to support him and the company from the board. As for me I’m looking forward to getting to know my kids better, annoying my wife on the farm, and finally getting my pilot license.”
Farm/Pilot license?? I’M A MULTI-MILLIONAIRE you know. Thank God he has decided to do a Tom Blomfield. I would have preferred if @Viktor left also, but let’s give him a year and see if he is up to it!
It would have been great if an outsider CEO came in, kind of like Monzo.
I think Adam’s departure should also signal an end to crowdfunding rounds, they smack of a less mature company.
Gifting socks etc. for funds was fun at the time but let’s focus on that IPO/buyout.
What about the abruptness of it?
Agreed, definitely a story there - if this was planned for a while then why the lack of notice? And if it was an instant thing then why? Who is our biggest investor? Was this a push?
Also I didn’t receive any correspondence on this, as an A class shareholder should I not have had some insight/choice in selection of CEO?
