What an amazing episode it was! Set’s the rest of the episodes up nicely now. Let’s hope the intensity continues.
Jamie totally ruined his redemption story, Captain Jack might end up realising it can’t be his baby since Tyrian knew, running out of Dragons and Missandai got Beaned. Alliances are changing so I’m really looking forward to the last 2. The Hound and Arya heading for the capital is going to be interesting
It annoyed me you didn’t get to see Arya’s or Sansa’s reaction to knowing Jon is a Targaryen. Also annoyed me how Sansa didn’t just take her final dragon round the back of the ships and set them on fire, wouldn’t be easy spinning those huge crossbows around. Decent episode but I think this final season looks rushed, even with the extended episodes.
Rushed??? Lol its taken 8 years to get to the main battle. Thats how long Winter has been coming!
I was unbelievably happy we didn’t have to see Bran explaining it. Their reaction was obvious as Arya left and Sansa was miserable. Granted that’s usual for her. I was shouting at Dany to get behind the fleet but I suppose she didn’t know what was waiting and at some stage the dragon would have been vulnerable
I feel its being set up for Arya to kill Cersei by looking like Jamie. A meet up on the road south seems all but likely. How Danny couldn’t have seen the Greyjoy fleet at a distance is beyond me. Even hidden, at a distance, high in the air, they would have been seen. Looks like Kings Landing will burn soon!
The curious question is - how did Danny & Company get to Kings Landing after their fleet was destroyed and they were marooned on Dragonstone? Time and story holes hath no meaning anymore.
Cant remember what she exactly said but it was ‘some of my fleet’ or similar. The front ships took the damage while the rest escaped
Will keep an eyes out when I watch it again tonight
Haha! So I wasn’t the only one that noticed that then.
At least the episode wasn’t too dark.
Taken 8 years to get to the main battle and it was over in an hour…
Wow. I’m surprised Arya left. Will she kill Dani or will Jon do that? Did Tyrion survive?
I hate to be that guy … but, I was a bit underwhelmed by that.
That sounds stupid to say given that the budget for that one episode must have been more than then first three series put together, but I just felt like not a lot happened.
Dani flipped and we spent an hour having rocks and fire balls kill off half of the cast. All against the backdrop of a disappointingly one sided battle. Cersei’s scorpions were destroyed within a minute and she seemed to have nothing else.
Don’t get me wrong, it looked great. I guess I just wanted a bit of variation.
Anyway, bring on next week!
I think an equal battle would have been a cop out. Dani was always going to win. Their main counter weapon was made of wood, famously not the best thing when fire is used against it. Cersei was arrogant because they’d killed a dragon before, but they’d seen the defences so it was always going to be one sided. The trailer for next week makes me think her reign will be very short
I feel like the last season was always going to cause conflict between fans.
I personally liked episode 5 but thought it would’ve been cool if Arya had ended up killing Cersei, then Jamie killed Arya, and they all get buried by rocks
Looking forward to the finale!
Savings app Chip is doing money diaries for fictional characters. But no idea if these hit the mark though because I confess that I haven’t seen much GoT.
How big is the petrol tank on a dragon anyway?
About the same size as the plot armour shield around Arya
I believe it could be more accurately called “GRRM’s wife’s favourite character armour”
Bring on the season finale!
