Stock of the month - December 2019

Well this year there was a Santa rush. There was no presents last year as Santa never came as some of you may remember…

I had all my money back in funds by mid November and the stock markets have duly obliged and the indexes are at an all time high. It’s been an epic month and probably the most fruitful since the stock markets bounced back in February/March after the correction earlier in 2019/late 2018.

So without further ado what was your boomer? Which ones got left on the shelf? My portfolio just generally all round improved, but I had a few good gainers

Winner for me was Balfour Beatty which grew 20%, Evraz 17%, Advanced Medical and the Gym group tied on 12%.

I didn’t really have any stocks that dipped. May it long continue!

Balfour Beatty and Stagecoach were my best performers by %
Everything else was up too, apart from Unilever and Britvic which I was hoping would be part of my uncertainty stabilising strategy.
Funny how these things work out

For me, best performers in the last month (including yesterday):

  • AMD: 26.22%
  • Shopify: 16.30%
  • Apple: 15.76%

Worst performers:

  • Okta: -5.99%
  • Boohoo: -0.78%
  • Disney: -0.26%

Mine were Nvidia and Apple, wish I’d held onto my AMD shares now though

Apple is now up over 50% since I bought them, I must admit I wasn’t expecting that much growth from such a large well established company

Sony up 10%
L&G up 12%
BMY up 10%
OSB up 14%
CWR up 14%
ITM up 34.5%
MTRO up 15.5%
TSLA up 26%

Convatec for me. Up 36%. Was looking into them and took a punt before they released earnings. Paid off very well for me.

My partner holds Convatec. They have a very impressive product range well stocked by the NHS.
